Baby Alligators Uncovered In Lewis County

Lewis County Sheriffs Deputies had to move in on a Lyons Falls resident after police discovered they had baby alligators in their home.

When police arrived on the scene, two tenants of an apartment handed the police a Ramen Noodle box with two baby alligators inside. The tenants had told the deputies that they bought the baby alligators at a pet store in Florida.

Police say the hatchlings had only been fed earthworms and did not appear to be in good health. Both suspects were issued tickets for illegal possession of alligators. The alligators were taken to a Watertown zoo for vet care and will eventually be sent to an educational facility once they are healthy.
