Auburn Police and the Cayuga County Sheriffs Department have caught up with an alleged puppy bandit.
Auburn Police says they've arrested 38 year old William Butler of Union Spring after police say he broke into the Finger Lakes SPCA earlier this month and grabbed an eight week old puppy out of his kennel. Police issued a public alert for help in tracking down the puppy and a few days later he was found safe and sound, but police aren't saying where they located the dog.
Butler has now been charged with Burglary and Criminal Mischief in the case. The SPCA says they've now put new security measures in place.
