Mr. Met mascot gives fans middle finger (VIDEO)

Mr. Met, the lovable mascot for New York's National League baseball team, wasn't showing the fans how many runs the Mets scored in their 7-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.

The baseball-headed mascot was caught on video giving fans the middle finger and seemed to enjoy doing so with his permanently wide smile.

"We apologize for the inappropriate action of this employee,'' the club said in a statement. "We do not condone this type of behavior. We are dealing with this matter internally.''

The Mets said that one person wears the costume all season, but that person will not wear it again.
