Onondaga County's Air One helicopter has a new home. They've joined forces with the National Guard's 174th Attack Wing who has provided the chopper with a new home at their Mattydale headquarters.

The new hangar provides Air 1 with enough space for shelter, perform maintenance and train it's crew. The county's Air 1 program has been around for 42 years and first made home at a hangar in East Syracuse in 1975.

Air 1 continues to provide law enforcement and emergency services response and even search and rescue capabilities, and it's the only law enforcement helicopter based in Syracuse providing service to Onondaga County.
