Contractor Arrested For Cashing Check For Work He Didn't Do

Scriba, N.Y. - A crooked contractor was arrested for taking nearly $10,000 from a person and never showing up to do the job.

Oswego Deputies arrested James Cook after he took a $9,200 down payment in July to put an addition on a customer’s house in Scriba. Cook cashed the check, but never did the work nor produced any materials.

Cook is charged with Grand Larceny and will be back in Court on Thursday.
