A 'Witch Hunt' Against Powerful Men? Damn Straight

Lindy West isn't the only person miffed that Woody Allen recently piped in on the Harvey Weinstein scandal, saying it shouldn't turn into a "witch hunt"—but she's one of the few conceding that "yes, this is a witch hunt. I'm a witch and I'm hunting you." 

That's the provocative title of her op-ed piece in the New York Times, in which she notes she's baffled on why Allen spoke out in the first place, considering the accusations against him about molesting his daughter Dylan when she was a child. 

But while West isn't sure what prompted Allen to offer his take on Weinstein, she does know why he felt OK in doing so: because "the cultural malfunction that allows Allen to feel comfortable issuing that statement is the same malfunction that gave us Allen and Weinstein in the first place: the smothering, delusional, galactic entitlement of powerful men."
