Police Charge Guardian of 3-Month-Old With Assault

Syracuse police arrest the guardian of a child for abusive injuries to a three-month-old baby.

Officers met with guardian Lillian Schultz November 7th about a report of an injured child in her care.  The child was immediately taken to Upstate Hospital for obvious injuries to his legs and bruising on his head. Abused Persons Unit detectives rejected claims by the guardian that the child's injuries occurred elsewhere and determined the guardian was responsible for the child's injuries.  Schultz was arrested and charged with reckless assault, falsely reporting an incident, and endangering the welfare of a child. The baby was treated for fractures to her legs and knees and internal head injuries, none of which are life-threatening.
