Red Cross Responds To 4 Fires Friday, Aids 21 People

The Red Cross spent a very busy Friday night responding to four fires and assisting 21 people.

Disaster Action Team volunteers were at an apartment complex fire in East Syracuse, providing help to 10 residents in six apartments.  That same team also headed to Richmond Avenue in Syracuse for a house fire that displaced seven people.  A third Onondaga County fire left two people in on Duane Drive in Fayetteville without a place to sleep.  Finally, volunteers aided two people in Cincinnatus in Cortland County following a house fire.  The Red Cross reminds everyone to make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors work properly and have fresh batteries in them.
