Balter Locks Up Ballot Spot

Syracuse, N.Y. - Congressional hopeful Dana Balter has secured the signatures that she needs to be on the ballot for the Democratic Primary to eventually challenge John Katko.

The SU Professor secured more than 8,000 signatures. Only 1,250 are required. The abundance will make it more difficult for late-challenger Juanita Perez-Williams to get the required number of signatures to be on the ballot before the Thursday deadline.

Balter is the local party-backed candidate. Democrats at the national level have been encouraging Perez-Williams to run.
