Syracuse Police Make An Arrest In Sunday Murder At Sunoco Station

Sunday around 5 AM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 2500 block of Erie Blvd E. in regards to a shooting call.  Upon arrival, at a Sunoco Station, they found a man suffering from a gunshot to the upper part of his body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The victim was identified as Rayshonn D. Hester, 35 years old, of Syracuse NY.

An investigation was conducted by Detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division, which included several interviews and the examination of evidence recovered from the scene.  Detectives believe that the suspects were in the process of robbing the victim when the victim was shot.

 Wednesday police arrested  27 year old Joshua C. Wright. He was charged with Murder in the 1st  degree, Robbery in the 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. Wright is currently lodged into the Onondaga County Justice Center.

Detectives are currently attempting to locate Wendell V. Griffin, 29 years old, of 461 Westmoreland Avenue.  Griffin has an active warrant for Murder in the 2nd degree, Robbery in the 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. 

The weapon used has not been recovered, and Griffin should be considered armed and dangerous.
