Watertown / Utica, N.Y. - For the first time since taking office, President Trump is coming to Upstate New York today.
He'll be visiting Fort Drum to meet with the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division before he gives remarks at the signing ceremony for the National Defense Authorization Act. The legislation is the Defense Department budget for the upcoming fiscal year. President Obama is the last commander-in-chief to visit the base back in 2011.
After his visit to Fort Drum, President Trump will go to Utica for a fundraiser. He'll be helping raise money for the re-election campaign of Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.

According to the president's schedule, the event is taking place at the Hotel Utica. Some people that are attending the event say that it will be at the old Hotel Utica, which is now a Hilton Double Tree. Tickets to the private fundraiser range from $1,000 for dinner to $15,000 for a roundtable and a picture with the President. This is the first time a sitting president has visited Utica since Harry Truman in 1948.
Protests are planned. A protest between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Liberty Bell Park is being hosted by the anti-Trump group, Indivisible Mowhawk Valley.
