Syracuse To Demolish 4 Buildings Destroyed By Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced this afternoon that the city will have to demolish the buildings that were destroyed by fire yesterday on the 700 block of North Salina Street. City officials condemned the buildings and for safety reason agreed they need to come down. 

Demolition could begin as early as Friday. The building were built in the early 1900's 

he buildings were built between 1900 and 1930. 

The buildings the city will be taking down are:

  • 713-715 N. Salina St.
  • 717 N. Salina St.
  • 719 N. Salina St.
  • 723-725 N. Salina St.

Walsh said while this is a set back the city will build from this. He praised the excellent work the Syracuse Fire Department did in handling a very difficult situation. He also was pleased that there were no injuries.
