Legal Pot Gets Boost From Farmers

Albany, N.Y. - The push to legalize recreational marijuana is picking up more support.

The New York Farm Bureau said yesterday it is getting behind the legislation.

"Given the current status of the farm economy in New York state, farmers recognize the potential opportunity the cultivation of cannabis could be for New York state's agriculture industry," the New York Farm Bureau said in a statement.

The Farm Bureau is the State's largest farm advocacy organization is backing legislation that would legalize recreational marijuana use.

Lawmakers are still trying to work out an agreement on a final bill before the legislative session ends next week.
