Syracuse, N.Y. - We are learning of some tense moments for Syracuse P.D. Saturday night.
Around 10 officers responded to the 100 block of Coolidge Ave. for a report of a suspicious person with a weapon.
They found 48 year old Jerry Jackson wielding an axe.
Police told him to put it down, Jackson continued to move toward police ignoring their orders.
He finally dropped the axe, got ont he ground and police were able to safely handcuff him. Police learned that Jackson chased a 29 year old female down the street while holding the axe.
He's charged with criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing.
