Priest Who Starred In The Movie "The Exorcist" Accused Of Abuse

Rochester, N.Y. - A priest who appeared in the classic film “The Exorcist” has been accused of sexually abusing a former student in Western New York.

According to a story in USA Today , the student, identified only by the initials J.W., accused Reverend William J. O’Malley of abusing him multiple times in 1985 and 86 when he was 17. The abuse allegedly took place at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester.

The 87 year old O’Malley, who played Father Dyer in the 1973 horror movie was a Jesuit teacher there for 22 years and currently is living in the Jesuit community at Fordham University.

More than 400 other lawsuits have been filed after New York state began accepting cases previously blocked by the statute of limitations.
