Syracuse, N.Y. - This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back day in conjunction with the DEA. Area Wegmans are participating and its your chance to clean out old medicines from your home.
According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health,9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
The only area Wegmans that is not participating is the James Street location.
The Take Back Day is from 10am until 2pm.
You can drop off any old or unused prescription drugs or over the counter drugs, anything except needles.
