Will Barclay Poised To Become Next Assembly Minority Leader

Albany, N.Y. - Assemblyman Will Barclay is poised to become the next Minority leader of the State Assembly.

Barclay represents northern Central New York. He would succeed Brian Kolb who resigned as leader Friday after his New Years' Eve DWI arrest.

Steve Hawley, an Assemblyman from Western New York, had also been discussed as the next Minority Leader. He issued a statement Sunday supporting Barclay.

The new legislative session begins this week. The governor will deliver his State of the State address Wednesday.
