Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon Shares Numbers

Syracuse, N.Y. - Onondaga County Excutive Ryan McMahon announced that the county has 178 new cases. Of those 80 were community spread.

McMahon said "Right now, the reality is if you are out and about with people, you're at a higher risk". The seven-day rolling average of those tested with positive results is 2.5%.

McMahon also said that 50 schools in OnondagaCounty have agreed to testing students and staff and will be using rapid kits in school buildings. He said these are not the large nasal swabs, but instead the smaller ones that swab the inside of the nose

McMahon says the answer is up to us...and he said "I'm a little ticked off that we're in this situation because we worked so hard but he said our number one priority is keeping our kids safe.
