Fayetteville Man Drowns In Golf Course Water Hazard

Town of Sullivan, N.Y. - State Police are investigating a drowning that occurred at the Rogue’s Roost Golf Course on Route 31 in the town of Sullivan.

Troopers believe 90-year-old Alan Goldberg, of Fayetteville, was retrieving his golf ball, lost his balance, and fell into a water hazard.

Mr. Goldberg's body was recovered in about 8 feet of water.

Police say at this time it appears to be purely accidental but an autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.
