Onondaga County DA Says Man Was Shot And Killed After Shooting At People

Syracuse, N.Y. - We are learning more about the shooting death of a man on Lodi Street Tuesday.

Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick says Demtrius Jackson was outside a home with a 9mm handgun when he began to fire in the direction of some people. That's when Richard Morose who had a valid pistol permit returned fire killing Jackson.

Fitzpatrick says it looks like Morose saved lives that day.

Morose and other witnesses have been receiving threats and have suffered vandalism to their property in retaliation. Police are investigating those incidents as well as the shooting.
