Gas Prices Continue To Rise In Central And Western New York

Syracuse, N.Y. - Gas prices continue to shoot up as crude oil prices rise above $80 a barrel. This despite the drop in demand.

AAA says in the Syracuse area, the average price is $3.39 a gallon up 6 cents from last week. The state average is up 8 cents from last week to $3.43. A year ago the state average was 2.25.

Some big jumps in Central and Western NY, Rome and Watertown are up 8 cents from last week, Ithaca and Rochester up 7cents.

As crude prices remain high its most likely that gas prices will remain so as well.
