Video Of Deputy Involved Fatal Shooting Raises Questions

Syracuse, N.Y. - New York Attorney General Letitia James' office has released the video from a neighbor near a fatal Onondaga County Sheriff Deputy shooting

Deputy John Rosello, a seven year veteran of the sheriff's office fired three shots at a moving car, after the sheriff says he felt it was attempting to run him over. The two teens killed in the car have been identified as 17-year-old Dhal Apet and 15 year-old Lueth Mo.

The deputy was wearing a body camera but it was not on. The dash cam in his car was not on either.

The events started around 9 Tuesday night September 5th, when two cars were stolen from Syracuse -- and then used in robberies at smokeshops in Madison and Onondaga county.

The deputy came into contact with one of the suspect vehicles Wednesday morning and when they tried to get away they seemingly sped at the Deputy who fired three shots hitting the pair.

Sheriff Tobey Shelley during a press conference said the Deputy had no option and no where to go to avoid being hit.

A security cam at a home nearby caught the action which you can see by clicking here.
