In observance of both National Fire Prevention Month and National Fire Prevention Week, the Firefighters Association of the State of New York is asking New Yorkers to remember and brush up on basic fire safety recommendations that can help save lives. This year’s prevention theme - “Cooking Safety Starts With You” - urges residents to educate themselves about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safer when cooking.
